Primarily responsible for representing the Party People on the casino floor by bringing energy, excitement, and fun. The Party Hosts will be responsible for hosting Party People games, selecting winners, recording prizes, and creating a variety of memorable experiences for players who play at Barona. Party Hosts will also serve as the driving force behind sales messages, going from Wrap Around Service personnel to players.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :

Ability to work flexible hours, on holidays and weekends as needed, meet deadlines, deal with changes, perform detailed work, work independently, and work in a fast-paced environment is essential. Work location and condition may change from time to time to include, but not limited to, outdoors, off property, on the casino floor, on stage, etc.

Compensation : $19.90 hourly

Responsibilities :

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave, and greeting
  • Build lasting relationships with players
  • Develop creative performance routines for promotions and Party People presentations. Host / emcee promotions, tournaments, and special events as needed
  • Make preparations for Party People games in accordance with scheduled and spontaneous presentations to players on the casino floor
  • Serve as a utility role to help players satisfy all of their gambling needs
  • Initiate small-scale celebrations with players, including birthdays, anniversaries, and other notable Barona moments
  • Responsible for communicating, monitoring, and implementing sales messages from Wrap Around Service groups to players
  • Execute drawings utilizing Barona’s promotional software when needed
  • Staff promotions and special events in a variety of capacities as needed, including, but not limited to, line control, event registration, ushering, etc.
  • Produce and deliver promotion materials
  • Assist with and facilitate training, as requested
  • Handles prize distributions on various levels, including but not limited to escorting winners, checking out vouchers / cash to pay winners, completing tax paperwork, and other documentation related to prize distributions
  • Oversee and assist with installations related to special events and promotions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Demonstrated ability in professional and entertaining public speaking and performance skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance, with an outgoing personality
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and oral / written communication skills, as well as basic math skills, are required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred. Ability to perform detailed work; perform routine repetitive work, work independently, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION :

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate's Degree or above preferred
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Public speaking experience, such as emcee, acting, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ALTERNATIVE TO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous position in Casino Marketing, and / or Community Relations
