Job Summary

We are seeking a Yard Truck Driver to join our operations team. The Yard Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of yard trucks to transport scrap materials, containers, and heavy equipment within the facility. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work in an outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Yard Truck – Safely maneuver yard trucks to transport scrap metal, vehicles, and large containers between designated areas.

Transport Materials – Move materials efficiently within the yard to processing, storage, or shipping areas.

Loading & Unloading Assistance – Help with the secure loading and unloading of scrap materials.

Yard Organization – Maintain an orderly yard by stacking and storing materials properly.

Transport Equipment – Move heavy machinery, including balers, shredders, and crushers, within the facility.

Safety Compliance – Follow all safety protocols and industry regulations to prevent accidents.

Coordinate with Yard Crew – Work closely with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.

Other Duties – Assist in additional tasks such as sorting scrap, performing light truck maintenance, and handling forklifts, loaders, and water trucks.

Qualifications & Requirements

• ?? Experience : Prior experience operating yard trucks in a scrapyard, industrial, or warehouse setting preferred.
• ?? Driving Skills : Ability to navigate tight spaces and work around heavy machinery.
• ?? Safety Awareness : Understanding of safety regulations related to scrapyard operations .
• ?? Physical Stamina : Ability to work long hours outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• ?? Communication Skills : Ability to communicate effectively with the team (handheld radio experience is a plus).
• ?? Mechanical Knowledge : Basic truck maintenance and minor repair skills preferred.
• ?? Licensing : A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is a plus, but not required.
