About the Role
James Tool Machine and Engineering, Inc. is seeking experienced CNC Machinists (Lathe and / or Mill) to join our team in Morganton, NC. This is a job shop environment , where every day brings variety and new challenges. The ideal candidate will be skilled in programming, set-up, and operation of CNC lathes and mills—producing precision components with repeatability, efficiency, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and / or mills
- Perform test runs and adjust programs / machine settings until parts meet specifications
- Develop CNC programs in an organized and cost-effective manner
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust cutting paths to optimize efficiency
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications
- Support AS9100 & ISO 9001 quality standards and policies
- Follow all plant safety procedures and work with safety committee team members
