Qualifications

Required Education :

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • Required Experience :

  • None
  • Preferred Experience :

    Six (6) to twelve (12) months of pharmacy experience.

    Required Certification / License / Registry :

  • FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician).
  • CPhT credential from the PTCB or the NHA within one (1) year post-hire.
  • Responsibilities

    Your Role :

  • Under the direct supervision of the Director / Pharmacy, Supervisor / Pharmacy, or a Pharmacist, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system.
  • Direct Supervision : A pharmacist gives specific instructions on all assignments. A pharmacist reviews the technicians work for completeness and accuracy, or the technician performs tasks with inherent checks built into the nature of the work.

  • Responsible for maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data utilizing the computer system, filling automated medication dispensing systems with a supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to patient care areas.
