Instrument Technician-C
The Instrument Technician is an hourly position, and reports to the Electrical Supervisor. The employee is responsible for troubleshooting electrical / electronic industrial plant equipment.
- Pay : $40.05hr
- Training Shift : Monday-Friday first 90days 7am-330pm
- After Training Schedule : 3 Days on 3 Days off-you will be awarded either night or days shift based upon seniority after training.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Leads, Assists and performs the duties of the Electrical craft apprentice under the direction and authority of managementPerforms any electrical, electronic and instrument work regarding the diagnosis, installation, testing and repair of electronic and solid state concepts (including but not limited to printed circuit boards, computer interface equipment, advanced scope and test equipment, transducers, DC drive systems, bushing controls and synchronous motor controls programmable controllers , etc.).Maintains, constructs, installs, repairs and calibrates any plant electrical, instrument, and metering equipment.Participates in the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for any plant electrical, electronic and instrument equipment or control system.Performs original electrical / electronic layouts and circuit designs.Works from information obtained from engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, simple and complex sketches as well as other related documentsTroubleshoots electrical, electronic and instrument systems.Completes records and reports.Applies protective coatings to equipment fabricated, modified, maintained, etc.Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs established within the plant.Completes Work Orders, Activity Reports, and Work Logs in the Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS)Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by managementWorks in an efficient self directed manner to resolve electrical issues that plague the plant or a specific process.SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities :
Must be able to read electrical / electronic blueprints.Must be able to use different types of electrical meters associated with the task to troubleshoot electrical / electronic problemsMust have the ability to multi-taskMust be able to secure and maintain fork lift drivers licenseHas the ability to troubleshoot Hydraulic / pneumatic systemsHas the ability to use, manage, and operate a CMMS (Computerized Maint Mgt System)Ability to run conduit as directedAbility to document changes in written formatsAbility to read and understand PLC logicMust be able to plan and execute in written form a safe job plan utilizing electrical safe work practicesAbility to install and set-up electrical power distribution devices including blade switches, circuit breakers, relays, etc.COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPETENCIES
The employee must be able to :
Must be able to operate a computerLearn SAP, On-spec and Omnimac systemsEDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following :
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is requiredPossess valid forklift, and man lift driver certificationMust be a US citizen or have the right to work in the USMust be 18 years or olderMust be drug and alcohol freeFour or more years related experience in an industrial environmentKnowledge of 2011 National Electric Code (NEC)Certified electrician or equivalent experienceBasic PLC programming / troubleshooting experienceESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
