Corrections Officer Positions

To apply, candidates must complete the DOC Officer Recruit Training program, which includes 8 weeks of academy training and two months of on-the-job training. Successful completion of the training and other departmental requirements is mandatory for employment.
Required education includes completion of 15 semester college credits in any field. Military veterans may use Joint Services Transcripts for education verification. Experience as a Corrections Officer or Corrections Medical Officer is not required but can be considered.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, pass a medical exam, drug screen, and physical fitness test, and complete an approved eight-week corrections officer training program. Additional requirements include submitting an official college transcript and proof of military service if applicable.
