Join our Recovery Room as an RN at our Presbyterian Hospital in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. In this role you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. We look forward to hearing from you!\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProvides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.\n\nCoordinates patients care through collaboration with the patient / family and healthcare team.\n\nPerforms assessments as per unit standards and documents on appropriate data base / assessment flow sheet.\n\nInitiates, utilizes and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.\n\nAdministers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician, or protocols and documents according to policy.\n\nIdentifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care.\n\nEvaluates patient progression toward outcomes per unit policies and documents through EOSS etc.\n\nPerforms competently in emergency situations.\n\nDelegates or assigns aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.\n\nAssumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.\n\nProvides leadership through communication about and validation of patient care.\n\nAssists with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques or assigns to other healthcare team members as appropriate.\n\nCompletes patient population / age-specific / procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit policy.\n\nDemonstrates Competency In Required Psychomotor Skills.\n\nAssists in orientation of new staff or students and serve as a resource person and professional role model.\n\nAssumes professional responsibility for current nursing structure, nursing guidelines of care, and policies.\n\nIncorporates PHS mission (VVPS) in care-giving activities.\n\nSupports DON philosophies of professional governance and models of care delivery.\n\nAssumes other leadership roles (i.e. relief charge nurse) as required by the department.\n\nPerforms Other Functions As Required.\n\nQualifications\n
  • Associate Degree in Nursing\n
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License\n
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire\n
  • ACLS\n
  • PALS\n
