Assistant Director Of Residence Life
The Assistant Director of Residence Life provides strategic leadership and operational support for the department. This position is responsible for supervising professional staff, overseeing the recruitment, selection, training, and development of Hall Directors, and leading departmental committees and safety initiatives. The Assistant Director also participates in a 24 / 7 on-call rotation, manages crisis response, and fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential experience that supports student success.
Job Responsibilities :
- Provide direct supervision to Hall Directors, oversight of residential areas, and support for crisis management. Serve in the 24 / 7 duty rotation and contribute to the vision and direction of the Residence Life Leadership Team.
- Lead all aspects of Hall Director recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, evaluation, professional development, and recognition to ensure staff effectiveness and growth.
- Coordinate safety and wellness initiatives, serve as liaison with XUPD, manage Xavier Action & Care Team caseloads, oversee crisis response on- and off-campus, and maintain health and safety protocols.
- Advance departmental goals through committee leadership, project management, and serving as a resource to staff, students, and families.
- Oversee summer housing operations, including recruitment, training, and supervision of student staff.
Job Requirements :
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or a related field required.Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.How to Apply :
