Compensation Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1460 - $1500 Med / Surg RN Job Details – Amarillo, TX Job Title : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Location : Amarillo, TX 79106 Healthcare Setting : Medical Surgical & Orthopedic Unit (35 beds) Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics Shift : Day, 3x12-hour shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00) Weekly Hours : 36 Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 6 / 2025 – End : 1 / 5 / 2026) Orientation : 36 hours total (20 hours onsite, 16 hours online) EMR System : EPIC (recent experience required) Nurse-Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Float Requirement : Yes, to units of equal or lesser acuity Scrub Color : Any (no logos) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience required (2 years preferred) BLS and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS assistance available) Recent EPIC EMR experience (within last 6 months) Proficient in Isolation Precautions, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral Line Care / Management, Total Joint Replacements, Wound Care / Wound Vac Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local traveler rule) First-time travelers welcome Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and orthopedic patients Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC EMR Float to other Med / Surg or lower acuity units as required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services) Utilize advanced wound care and airway management skills Support patient discharge planning and coordinate with care technicians and transporters Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety, and quality standards Experience the best of Texas nursing jobs in Amarillo.
