Job Summary
We are looking for an Automotive Technician to join our successful repair service center.
As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles, while delivering an excellent customer experience. You must be comfortable using the computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems. A successful Technician will also train and mentor co-workers as well as maintain clean and safe work areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform multi-point inspection and diagnose malfunction(s)
- Provide an estimate of the time needed for repairs
- Repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs
- Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions
- Adhere to company regulations and keep abreast of recalls and updates
- Report any damaged or defective equipment to management
- Report safety issues to management and ensure a clean working area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required
- An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence / ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers / SAE certification is preferred
- Strong customer service and communications skills are required
