Medical Records Coder / Certified - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY :
Codes medical records using diagnostic coding. Ensures accurate submission of all coding data for reimbursement purposes. Ensures Regulatory Compliance and follows all Federal regulations for all payment systems.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certificate Required :
One of the following Coding Certifications :
CCS-Certified Coding SpecialistCPC-Certified Professional CoderCPC-H-Certified Professional Coder-HospitalCOC-Certified Outpatient CoderCIC-Certified Inpatient CoderCMC-Certified Medical CoderMinimum Work Experience
Ability to read and communicate in English; Bilingual preferredGood communication and multi-tasking skillsMinimum of 2 years’ experience with ICD-10 and CPT / HCPCS coding in an acute facility and / or physician’s office preferredKnowledge of computer applications for codingKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiologyKnowledge and application of diagnostic and procedural codingPOSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Ensures accurate diagnostic coding assignment to include modifiers when applicable.Accuracy standards of 95°ree; / o or greater.Accurately abstracting the coding data utilizing the coding softwareProductivity
Maintains CVH coding productivity standards. Effectively coordinates scheduled daily activities to ensure productivity is met and work is completed in a timely manner.25-30 per hour- out patient charts includes abstracting.10-12 per hour- emergency room patients, includes abstracting.10-12 per hour- infusion patients includes abstracting.3-4 per hour- inpatients, includes abstracting.4 -5 per hour- ambulatory surgery patients, includes abstractingGoals / Standards
In collaboration with Director of Revenue Cycle, supports the goals and objectives of the department related to coding quality and reimbursement levels.Possesses working knowledge of all regulatory standards that apply to coding activities and ensures practice meets standards.Assists in training coding staff and / or contract coders.Provides all requested education to clinical staff to include in depth coding training, provider meeting presentations, audits and on-going supportBENEFITS : If you are scheduled to work part-time at least 20 hours per week and full-time at least 32 hours per week, you are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
