Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Manager to lead and oversee the organization's information security programs. Based in McAllen, Texas, this role is critical in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding the organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cybersecurity, leadership, and risk management to this dynamic position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT security programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead the preparation and management of IT systems security components for audits and examinations.
  • Supervise and guide IT Security Administrators, ensuring effective performance and adherence to security protocols.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive information security awareness training across the organization.
  • Oversee the hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and development of reporting staff.
  • Participate in job-specific training and other organizational programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to internal risk controls and loss prevention measures, including reporting suspicious activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and internal audit controls related to department operations.
  • Stay updated on security principles, regulatory changes, and emerging threats to continuously improve security measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience, including three years in information systems security management.
  • Proficiency in IP networking, encryption, firewalls, VPNs, and other security technologies.
  • Strong expertise in developing security policies, risk analysis, and intrusion response procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer system architecture and communication security principles.
  • Proven experience managing complex security infrastructures and implementing security strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
