The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Lamont Assistant Mechanic works alongside a Lamont Mechanic while being trained to perform maintenance and repair functions as set forth in the Lamont Mechanic job description. Pursuant to training, the Lamont Assistant Mechanic is expected to perform tasks with minimal supervision and work independently on tasks for which he / she has been trained.
Responsibilities
The Lamont Assistant Mechanic will assist in all maintenance and repair functions, including grounds keeping, snow and ice removal, general construction, utility repairs, heavy cleaning, and related duties as assigned.
May be assigned to run a job involving a crew consisting of other Lamont Assistant Mechanics, Lamont Mechanic Trainees, and Casual Employees, and may be required to provide training to such crew.
Handles and transports on-campus universal waste to the central storage area for disposal.
Must successfully complete required safety and regulatory compliance training and conform to all requirements on the job.
Must report to work and work overtime as directed by supervisory staff to support emergency operations, including, but not limited to, snow removal.
Performs other duties as assigned.
