About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Neuro ICU required

License : Current Nursing License

Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Strong Neuro Critical Care Background
• Experience in managing stroke patients
• Must have experience with ventilation and central line care

Description :

RTO after booking is not allowed.

Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to cancellation.

Strong Neuro Critical Care background is essential, not just general ICU experience.

A minimum of 2 years in Neuro ICU is required.

First-time travelers will not be accepted on this unit.

Local candidates are welcome.

The skill set must include management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, and continuous IV sedation.

Experience with external ventricular drains and ICP monitoring is necessary.

We manage a range of patient diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, and seizures.

The average daily census is approximately 11-12 patients with a typical patient ratio of 2 : 1.

Flexing to 3 : 1 may occur during high census, and the nurse must be comfortable with this.

Every other weekend coverage is required.

Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the assignment.

No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation.

Candidates may float within the hospital as required.

References from two supervisory contacts within the past 12 months are preferred.

Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or over 60 hours in a week.

Compliance modules must be completed prior to the start of the contract.
