Project Engineer MEP (Manufacturing Builds Industrial / Warehouses)

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer MEP to support the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on large-scale manufacturing and warehouse construction projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in MEP disciplines, familiarity with industrial systems, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of complex builds.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design review, coordination, and execution of all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) for large-scale industrial and warehouse facilities.
Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure MEP design intent is executed in line with project goals and specifications.
Coordinate MEP shop drawings, technical submittals, and installation sequencing with structural and architectural trades.
Oversee and support on-site MEP installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
Monitor compliance with local codes, safety regulations, industry standards, and sustainability guidelines.
Manage RFI and submittal logs specific to MEP systems and ensure timely responses.
Conduct regular site inspections and participate in quality control walkdowns with stakeholders.
Track MEP work progress, report variances, and support the resolution of field issues.
Maintain project documentation and contribute to project close-out processes, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and punch lists.
Support cost tracking, value engineering, and procurement processes related to MEP scopes.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

1-2 years of experience in MEP project engineering, preferably on large-scale industrial or warehouse construction projects.

In-depth knowledge of industrial MEP systems, including manufacturing-specific utility requirements (compressed air, chilled water, high-load electrical systems, etc.).

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.

Strong understanding of MEP coordination techniques using BIM workflows.

Familiarity with applicable building codes (NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, IPC, etc.).

Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Ability to work on fast-paced, high-demand construction sites and adapt to dynamic project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with LEED-certified or energy-efficient facility builds.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.

Working Conditions

Primarily field-based with routine presence on active construction sites.

Occasional travel to supplier, consultant, or fabrication facilities may be required.

Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and work in industrial environments.
