Description : Purpose of Job :
This position reports to the Team Lead-Stamping, and Team Supervisor-Stamping and is responsible for competently setting dies and getting them production ready.
Minimum level of education / training required / certificates / licenses :
This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
Minimum experience required :
Must be able to competently perform all the duties of a stamping operator
Essential Responsibilities :
1. Efficiently sets die from start to finish with little or no supervision.
2. Ability to understand and adequately program cam settings and die protection correctly.
3. Stage dies and accessories accurately prior to setup.
4. Initiates startup improvement form at beginning of setup.
5. Properly installs all chutes and conveyors.
6. Cleans die thoroughly before setting it on the bolster.
7. During teardown, records any issues found with die or accessories on startup improvement form.
8. Adequately trains operators on proper setup practices.
9. Put chutes, conveyors, and dies back in the proper storage location during teardown.
10. Competently runs all presses.
11. Constantly looks for ways to make setup more efficient.
12. Accurately creates or updates process sheets.
13. Ensures probe checks are done accurately at start of shift.
14. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and / or overtime is needed.

Lean : Participate in and support lean manufacturing programs and principles with a focus to reduce costs with quality product such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Suggestion System, etc. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to continually strive to improve our processes and procedures. Adhere to 5S : Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
Environmental : Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool & Die, Inc. (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.
Other : Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is frequently required to work around machinery, push / pull on wrenches, pry bars, and work inside bolster ran area of presses. The employee occasionally is required to drive a forklift. The employee will also be required to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
