Salary : $28.00 per hour
Job Summary
The primary duties for the successful candidate will be supporting our pre-nursing and
current nursing students in the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing. This position
will support students at the Raleigh County Campus and the Nicholas County Campus. This
position is a grant funded nine-month position, and renewal will be contingent upon
continued funding.
Nature of Work
Provide support to pre-nursing and current nursing students
Distinguishing Characteristics
Performs other functions as required or assigned. Also complies with all Policies and
Standards.
Summary of Core Responsibilities :
Possess thorough and accurate knowledge in field / discipline of Nursing.
Demonstrate ability to relate and work effectively with students, peers and the
public.
Commit to the mission and objectives of New River Community and Technical
College.
Meet the academic demands of the program.
Provide own transportation and be punctual and regular in attendance.
Travel to various campus locations, including evenings.
Be accessible and responsive to students through e-mail, phone, or scheduled
hours.
Demonstrate typing and computer skills.
Provide students with constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback in a
timely manner.
Respect the confidentiality of student information; refrain from discussing or
releasing such information except within recognized limits.
Help create an entry level test preparation course.
Tutor students help to them prepare for entry level testing for the nursing
programs.
Tutor current Practical Nursing and associate degree Nursing students.
Skills :
Demonstrated proficiency in the technical area of expertise, including ATI.
Well versed in current teaching trends, techniques, resources, and technology for
both onsite and virtual learning, as necessary.
Education and Licensure
Associate's Degree Nursing - Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Preferred
Master's Degree - Preferred
Current WV RN License - Required
Experience
In addition to the knowledge / education, the following related work experience is typically
required for this position. An equivalent combination of education and recent, related
experience may be acceptable.
Two years teaching experience in higher education - Preferred
Experience utilizing technology including Microsoft Word and other software programs - Required
Experience teaching over an Interactive Video Network / Zoom - Preferred
Teaching Dual Enrollment - Preferred
Experience teaching and / or working in an Allied Health Field - Preferred
