As a Senior Systems Engineer , you will design, implement, and maintain advanced systems infrastructure to support critical enterprise applications. Playing a senior-level role, you’ll ensure system stability, efficiency, and compliance, while delivering expert-level support in a highly regulated gaming environment. Your expertise will help root out complex issues, guide design decisions, and enhance operational resilience. This role will be 100% onsite in Las Vegas, NV.
- Lead the design and deployment of new platforms as well as enhancements to existing Wintel and enterprise infrastructure.
- Manage and prioritize a work request queue to consistently meet service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Oversee administration of Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022) environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware virtualization, and enterprise storage arrays.
- Troubleshoot complex systems issues across Wintel platforms, perform root-cause analysis, and restore outages efficiently.
- Develop high-availability solutions, including clustering, replication, and dynamic resource allocation.
- Conduct system security audits, manage backup / recovery procedures, and support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Research emerging technologies, stay current with industry trends, and recommend system enhancements.
- Draft and manage detailed system documentation including configuration maps, process flow, and service records.
- Collaborate closely with architects, business partners, and other technical teams to integrate systems and meet organizational objectives.
- Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management workflows to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
- Provide leadership in vendor evaluations, recommending technologies and guiding system design strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers and IT staff, particularly in Wintel server administration best practices.
- Maintain on-call availability as part of a rotational response team to handle emergency system issues.
- Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar; or equivalent professional experience. Typically requires 5+ years in Wintel / enterprise systems engineering.
- Technical Proficiency :
- Deep expertise in Windows Server (Wintel) platforms, Active Directory (multi-domain / multi-forest), DNS / DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Strong VMware administration skills and familiarity with enterprise storage technologies.
- Knowledge of Active Directory security : Kerberos, LDAP, PKI, MFA, and identity hardening.
- Experience with Linux systems in mixed Wintel / Unix environments a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Batch) for automation and system administration.
- Familiarity with monitoring, patch management, and endpoint security solutions in Wintel environments.
- Regulatory Experience : Experience in environments governed by MICS, PCI, SOX, and Gaming Control Authority protocols.
- Soft Skills : Strong communication, organizational, and project management abilities; capacity to mentor and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Operational Flexibility : Ability to work rotating shifts and on-call duties; demonstrate adaptability in a pressure-intensive environment.
