Position : Inventory Control Specialist

Location : Chicago, IL

Duration : 3 Months

Job Type : Temporary Assignment

Work Type : Onsite

Shift : Monday to Friday from 08 : 00 AM to 04 : 30 PM

Pay Rate : $20.00 - $25.00 / hr.

Summary

The Senior Site Specialist / Inventory Control Specialist involves managing inventory operations through a mobile app, ensuring accurate stock levels, handling shipments, and providing responsive customer support. The position requires a detail-oriented, proactive team player who can balance operational efficiency with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, returns, and backorder processing using the mobile app
  • Receive, inspect, scan, and store shipments while maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone, ensuring timely resolution and trust-building
  • Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to identify and implement workflow improvements
  • Maintain safety and organization standards by following site guidelines and wearing PPE
  • Monitor stock levels proactively to prevent operational disruptions
  • Record inventory transactions on the iBuy Order Form and enter them into the iBuy system
  • Match completed transactions from iBuy to ULS IM
  • Act as the schools customer service contact
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory-control roles
  • Proficiency with RF handheld scanners or mobile scanning applications
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong verbal and written English communication, particularly via email
  • Attention to detail, accountability, and ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience creating and analyzing reports in Excel
  • Proven ability to propose and implement process improvements
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
