Patient Access Specialist

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for maintaining patient rights by educating patients; responding to patient and patient family complaints; resolving patient issues; reporting unresolved issues. They will help patients with applying for insurance coverage. Getting prior authorization needed for procedures from insurances. Getting approval for swing bed stays.

Hours / Shifts : 72 hours biweekly at Elbow Lake and Morris locations.

Compensation : Hourly Wage Range : $18.17 - $23.20. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications :

• Education / Special Skills : A high school diploma or GED.
• To perform in this position satisfactorily requires good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Knowledge of basic insurance policies, procedures, and reimbursement practices.
• Adequate computer / keyboarding skills a must.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
• Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
