Responsibilities Work in a fast-paced 40-bed adult and geriatric Post-Surgical Care Unit within a hospital setting Care for patients along the continuum of pre- and post-surgical recovery Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 on days / PM, 1 : 5-7 on nights 12-hour variable shifts (day / night : 7a-7p / 7p-7a) Every other weekend and holiday required Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments Patient population averages 10-15 admissions per day with high occupancy (90-95%) Utilizes Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric post-surgical patients, including pre and post-PACU recovery Team-based care environment with high patient turnover and average stays of 2-3 days Any scrub color is acceptable for this position Holiday coverage is required according to the hospital's schedule Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility First-time travelers will not be considered Requirements Active WI or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg hospital experience required Trauma Level II hospital experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Experience with Epic EMR required Ability to multitask and prioritize care based on acuity Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622446.
