Pittsburgh Mercy has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physician OR NP to join our ambulatory team located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Essential Functions and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Position : Provide direct services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of assigned out-patients and Respite residents Provider emergency crisis intervention during routine working hours Provide on-call coverage during non-routine hours (as necessary) Follow established clinical practice guidelines Provide procedural services within the scope of specialty training and clinical competence Provide clinical supervision and consultation to treatment teams Provide education to the unit staff about relevant clinical issues in both formal and informal settings Participate in administrative duties as assigned. Communicate appropriately, following confidentiality guidelines, with internal and external providers to ensure quality and continuity of care Participate in the education of health professions students assigned to site rotations Medical record documentation will be in compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain an active Pennsylvania physician / surgeon license, board certification in primary care specialty, and controlled substance registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Abide by the credentialing and re-credentialing policy. Maintain participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payer programs as required by administration. Skills and Qualifications Management of chronic diseases and commonly encountered outpatient acute medical conditions. Knowledge and competencies in understanding and collaborating with the region’s behavioral health and social service system. Comfort providing above services to individuals with severe / persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, and housing instability.
