Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong transplant surgery experience and proficiency in Misonix / CUSA for a teaching hospital assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Patient population includes liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
  • Requires performance of organ implantation (recipient-side), not just organ harvesting
  • Proficient use of Misonix / CUSA surgical equipment required
  • Shift is 11 : 00 to 23 : 30 with one call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month
  • Floating within scope may be required
  • Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred
  • Ceil blue scrubs required
  • Role includes rotating on-call shifts and supporting a variety of complex transplant surgeries
  • Orientation includes EKG and pharmacology exams, with study materials provided and up to two attempts allowed
  • First-time travelers eligible for this position
  • All time-off requests must be submitted up front; additional requests may not be approved
  • Permanent and per diem staff must wait one year before returning
  • Free parking available
  • Must comply with smoke-free environment requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
  • At least 2 years of direct liver / transplant OR RN experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of consideration
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start
  • Must have experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries documented
  • Experience implanting organs into recipients required
  • Proficiency with Misonix / CUSA required
  • Nicotine-free required; negative 10 panel and cotinine drug screen within 12 months
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration
  • No license disciplinary actions allowed
