Security Supervisor
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations at the mining site. This includes managing the security team, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets, enforcing site access control, and coordinating response to security incidents. The role requires a strong presence on site and close collaboration with safety, operations, and external law enforcement agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and schedule security personnel on site. Ensure proper deployment of guards across all site access points, facilities, and perimeters.
- Oversee and enforce access control procedures for employees, contractors, and visitors. Ensure all vehicles and personnel are checked and documented by site policies.
- Respond to, manage, and report on security incidents, emergencies, and breaches. Ensure timely escalation and proper documentation.
- Conduct and supervise regular patrols of the site to detect unauthorized activity, monitor hazards, and maintain security visibility.
- Maintain detailed records of security activities, incidents, and investigations. Submit daily and weekly reports to management.
- Ensure all security staff comply with site-specific regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and company policies. Deliver or coordinate training for new and existing security personnel.
- Assist in internal investigations involving theft, vandalism, substance abuse, or misconduct. Collaborate with Security Investigators or external authorities as needed.
- Act as first responder and coordinator during site emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, evacuations, or conflicts.
- Monitor and maintain functionality of CCTV, alarms, radios, and access control systems. Report and follow up on equipment failures or maintenance needs.
Qualifications / Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field is an asset.46 years of experience in industrial, mining, or corporate security; at least 12 years in a supervisory or lead role.Additional
