12-hour shifts, days from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, with weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts required.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit. The ideal candidate should possess critical care experience, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be able to provide exceptional patient care while effectively assessing and addressing patient needs across various dimensions, including clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual aspects.

Responsibilities

Deliver quality patient care while ensuring safety and implementing safe lifting / moving techniques.

Function effectively in stressful scenarios and utilize creative problem-solving skills.

Assume charge nurse duties as needed, prioritizing and delegating tasks as appropriate.

Maintain excellent communication skills in interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal forms.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Valid RN license in New York State.

BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.

IV and IV contrast certification is mandatory.

Completion of a coronary care course or successful challenge exam within the orientation period.

Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification to be completed within six months of hire.

NIHSS certification to be completed within the first six months of employment.

Must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment; new travelers will not be considered.

Previous Samaritan employees must have been away for at least two years and be eligible for rehire.
