As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make an impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in Music Theory and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Preference given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
  • Deliver 1-on-1 online tutoring and on-demand (instant) tutoring when available.
  • Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features, helping save prep time.
  • Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.
  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential pay increases for each session with the same student (up to $40 / hour).
  • Get paid up to twice per week for the sessions you conduct.
