Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver freight in a timely and efficient manner while following all company guidelines and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving times, deliveries, and rest periods in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams to report any issues or delays and to receive instructions.
- Manage routes and routines to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption, while adhering to set schedules.
- Ensure the security of the cargo during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service during pick-up and delivery, acting as a representative of the company.
- Engage in ongoing training and skills development sessions provided by the company to stay updated with industry standards and technologies.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on the truck when necessary and report major issues to the maintenance team.
- Adhere strictly to routes, schedules, and traffic laws to ensure the safety of other road users.
