Role Overview

The Concept Art Director, NA Production Pod at RedHot, leads creative direction across multiple visual development projects for a client, combining artistic leadership, mentorship, and client collaboration to ensure high-quality, on-brand, and timely deliveries. This role also supports strategic planning, business development, and maintains RedHot’s creative reputation.

This role involves managing RedHot’s concept production and potentially coordinating with other OS partners for this client.

Responsibilities include :

  • Defining and maintaining the visual direction across different IPs and styles, with adaptability to ongoing titles’ styles.
  • Guiding creation of characters, environments, key art, props, and visual storytelling.
  • Ensuring consistent visual quality and narrative alignment.

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Supervising and mentoring a team of concept artists of varying skill levels.
  • Providing clear, actionable feedback through reviews and paintovers.
  • Supporting artist development and participating in evaluations.

    • Client Collaboration and Project Support

  • Working directly with clients and producers to meet creative expectations.
  • Assisting in project scoping, planning, and milestone reviews.
  • Supporting Art Directors with additional guidance and client feedback.

    • Strategic and Business Support

  • Contributing creatively to new business pitches and visual strategies.
  • Assessing project feasibility, visual targets, and resource planning.
  • Staying updated on trends, tools, and workflows relevant to concept art (e.g., Blender, Unreal, AI).

    • QA and Workflow Optimization

  • Ensuring deliverables meet quality standards before submission.
  • Collaborating to improve documentation and processes.
  • Proposing and implementing workflow improvements.

    • Qualifications :

  • Experience working on AAA game titles as a Senior Concept Artist or Art Director.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and task estimation abilities.
  • Understanding of other game art disciplines and workflows.
  • Experience working in high-pressure production environments.
