Schedule Night shift, 12 hours, 36 hours / week, every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through patient diagnosis and treatment, while advocating for individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development according to the New York State Nurse Practice Act and other relevant policies and regulations. The role emphasizes the promotion of a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Responsibilities Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients. Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management. Administer medications safely according to relevant policies. Manage resource utilization including staffing, time, and supplies. Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives. Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements. Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice. Provide a supportive learning environment for new staff and students. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Current NYS RN License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). 5 years of direct experience in nursing, ideally in med / surg telemetry. Experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred.
