Medical Assistant II - Otolaryngology (BWH)

The Medical Assistant II plays a vital role within the Division of Otolaryngology, supporting both clinical and administrative operations across two busy clinics. Working under the direction of licensed providers (MD, NP, PA) and nursing staff, the MA II assists with patient care, health maintenance, and documentation in accordance with scope of practice.

This position is ideal for candidates pursuing careers in healthcare-such as nursing or physician assistant school-who seek hands-on clinical experience in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare exam rooms and set up clinics daily

Take and record patient vital signs; room patients for provider visits

Assist providers during patient visits (1 : 1 support)

Ensure exam rooms are fully stocked and equipment is maintained

Support front desk operations as needed, including patient check-in / check-out

Answer and transfer patient calls; provide exceptional customer service

Document patient information accurately in EPIC

Required Qualifications :

High School Diploma or GED

Prior MA experience or current enrollment in a clinical training program (PA / Nursing)

Preferred Qualifications :

National Medical Assistant Certification

Previous experience in a surgical or specialty clinic setting

Familiarity with EPIC

Monday - Friday, 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM
