job_description.job_card.job_descriptionCollaborate with all disciplines to enhance clinical outcomes and improve patient satisfaction Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for patient care issues for patients, physicians, staff and the community Maintain competence and continue personal and professional growth congruent with ILCA standards Establish and improve patient health care goals through patient assessment, planning and implementation of Lactation Consultant interventions and evaluation of patient outcomes Identify and assist with opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and with other service areas Accurately and completely document all aspects of care given Prioritize the patient as number one and demonstrate fiscal responsibility by managing time and resources Advocate for patient health, safety and rights and communicate effectively with other care providers to ensure continuity of patient care Associate Degree in Nursing, BSN or IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) preferred BLS required One year of recent clinical experience preferred
