Summary
This promotional position oversees the production lines or areas processing poultry products, assisting the department supervisor in daily operations, coordinating the workforce, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Requires working with raw poultry products. Sets up, monitors, adjusts, and performs routine service to production equipment and processes to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production needs, generally 7 : 30 am - 5 : 00 pm.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Train Operators and Process Tech I associates on the proper setup and operation of equipment in Dark Meat Debone. Inspect equipment and related components for proper operation. Prepare equipment for sanitation, including blade removal, arbors, and fasteners, and ensure they are put back in place after maintenance.
Oversee the blade sharpening program to ensure sharp blades are ready for production daily. Report any issues to the Production Superintendent.
Observe and adjust equipment for proper operation during production and report problems to management.
Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on conveyors, skinners, Ultimate's, Marel X-ray, Eagle X-ray, and Gainco systems. Assist in equipment modifications or rebuilds to ensure efficiency and departmental goals are met.
Coordinate with OEMs for quotes on parts needed for assigned equipment. Submit purchase requests through Maximo (CMMS) and follow up to ensure timely ordering, preventing unexpected downtime. Maintain the work and production area during production and on weekends as needed, completing all necessary paperwork.
Adhere to all safety requirements, including reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Provide accurate shift handover information to counterparts from the opposite shift, including machine operators, Process Tech II, and management regarding issues from your shift.
Communicate with production and maintenance superintendents if you will be late or absent at least 2 hours in advance for regular workdays or weekend PMs. Absences should not exceed 5 occurrences to avoid demotion.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Exposure to temperatures ranging from 40 – 50°F, noise levels of 85 - 88 dB, iodine at hand wash stations, light intensity above 50' candles. Ability to lift 80 lbs and move throughout the department.
