Job Description Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Pharmacist to join its Children's Hospital pharmacy team for a 26-week contract assignment . The role focuses on ensuring safe, accurate, and effective medication use for pediatric and adult patients in an acute-care environment.
This position follows a 7-on / 7-off night schedule (10- or 11-hour shifts) with every other weekend rotation. Candidates must hold an active pharmacist license, demonstrate comfort working with pediatric patients, and possess recent inpatient hospital experience.
Responsibilities :
Verify, prepare, and dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
Oversee compounding, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical preparations including IV, piggyback, and TPN solutions.
Monitor drug therapies for safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness; perform dosing adjustments (renal, geriatric, pediatric, etc.).
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes and manage medication regimens.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, controlled substance handling, and sterile technique standards.
Participate in medication safety initiatives, inventory management, and quality assurance processes.
Provide clinical guidance in antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation management, and pharmacokinetic monitoring.
Support pediatric dosing protocols and maintain competence in children's hospital pharmacy workflows.
Key Requirements :
26-week contract beginning November 17, 2025; must continue through May 18, 2026.
Schedule : Nights (22 : 00 08 : 00); 7-on / 7-off with alternating weekends.
Block scheduling required.
No floating, no on-call, and 48-hour weeks not approved.
Must be available to work one of the three major holidays if scheduled (holiday requests subject to client approval).
Comfortable working in a pediatric / children's hospital setting.
Qualifications Education :
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy - required .
Experience :
Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient / acute-care hospital pharmacist experience - required .
Prior exposure to pediatric units or children's hospital environment - required .
Some experience with sterile compounding, IV preparation, and clinical dosing strongly preferred.
License :
Active and unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in the state of practice - required prior to start.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) - required.
PharmD or equivalent accreditation - preferred.

Preferred Competencies :
CAD cassette and mixer operations for TPN
Packaging Antineoplastic Agents and Pre-packing
Pediatric dosing and pharmacotherapy management across diverse systems
