Great Northern - Chippewa Falls is seeking a Structural Design Intern to join our manufacturing team in 2025! Are you ready to make a difference?

Position Details

Assists staff designers in the development and sampling of corrugated packaging and displays based on customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and material constraints. Works with the design staff in solving packaging problems. Services customer design requests and offers alternatives to design issues in accordance with GNC service, quality, and efficiency standards by performing the following duties :

1. Design development following the guidance of staff structural designers.

2. Samples corrugated and other paperboard materials, packaging and displays, using CAD table or other means of sampling.

3. Assists designers and manager with projects as assigned.

4. Fills in all essential design information on Product Specification Documents pursuant to all quality guidelines.

5. Orders and maintains department's corrugated board inventory on a daily basis.

6. Prepares samples for shipment to customers.

7. Regular and reliable attendance.

Additional Responsibilities :

1. Knows, understands, and follows all general rules and office policies and procedures.

2. Attends authorized training programs.

3. Responsible for maintaining appearance of design room.

Expectations

Must be matriculating in a college degree program with a major in packaging. Individual must have strong knowledge of CAD system and Artios; have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms, ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, decimals, and percentages; and integrity regarding confidential and proprietary information.

Schedule

January 2025 through August 2025. Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm.
