Simulation Engineer

Overview

Simulation Engineer at Design Systems, Inc. The role focuses on developing, verifying, and validating simulation models to evaluate manufacturing systems, material flow, transportation strategies, and production line efficiency. This position suits a detail-oriented problem solver with experience in discrete event simulation and a solid understanding of automotive or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify, and validate simulation models using dynamic simulation tools (preferably Siemens Plant Simulation).
• Model and analyze production lines, material handling systems, and transportation networks.
• Conduct simulation studies to evaluate : throughput, bottlenecks and downtime; delivery routes and operator efficiency; vehicle, pallet, and carrier resource utilization; storage capacity and sensitivity analysis.
• Create and maintain simulation asset libraries (AGVs, conveyors, cranes, ASRS, etc.).
• Develop and present simulation results and recommendations via reports and presentations.
• Support cross-functional teams during project planning and execution phases.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to align simulation outcomes with project goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across the simulation team.
