Responsibilities

Utilize the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation and Evaluation) to provide and document professional nursing care to the assigned patient population in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work. Participate in unit / organizational data collection, analysis, and review as well as process improvement work groups. Work with the Schools of Nursing to include serving as adjunct faculty and / or clinical instructor, if requested. Serve as the expert teacher / resource for assigned units / departments. Provide unit / department specific as well as Nursing / SRH-wide educational offerings. Communicate findings to the appropriate person(s). If employed in a dedicated stroke unit, critical care or the emergency room, adhere to (meet) the requirements for educational hours as outlined in the NIAHO standards for Primary Stroke Center. Perform any other job-related duties as requested by the Department Director.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina. MSN degree. Minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience with two years in the area of specialization preferred. Demonstrate clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in the specialty area with previous education experience. Certification in the area of specialty preferred. BLS certified.
