Environmental Consultant - Pools (Temporary / Part-Time)

What You'll Do

• Manage the County's year-round pool program, ensuring all permitted facilities meet sanitation standards set by NC DHHS and Wake County
• Conduct inspections, issue permits, respond to citizen complaints, and provide consultative visits and educational outreach
• Serve as the subject matter expert on main drain safety compliance and guide the team with insights that improve performance and safety
• Act as the primary trainer for new staff, tailoring instruction to individual needs and providing feedback on readiness for DHHS Authorization
• Respond to and investigate citizen complaints, including recreational water illness cases, and work closely with Communicable Disease staff on outbreak investigations
