Substance Abuse Counselor / $2,000 Sign-On Bonus at RHA Health Services, LLC . We are hiring for this role in North Carolina. This position provides support to individuals with Mental Health (MH) or Substance Abuse Issues in residential, school, workplace and community settings. These interventions are strength-based and focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community. Staff ratio considers evening and weekend hours, needs of special populations and geographical areas to be served. Qualified Professionals may deliver supports within the requirements of the service definitions. Relies on supervision and direction to provide quality services.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor and revise the Person Centered Plan in conjunction with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Facilitate relationships and serve as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies and the community.
• Minimize the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with daily living; provide supportive counseling.
• Support the client in developing skill-building activities, including daily and community living skills, socialization, adaptation, and behavior and anger management.
• Participate in a first responder on-call system available to consumers and / or their natural support network on a 24 / 7 / 365 basis; coordinate "first response" resources according to consumer need and the PCP.
• Perform Case Management functions of linking and arranging for services and referrals.
• Work closely with other clinical / professional staff to maintain communication, provide feedback, standardize procedures and expedite PCP implementation.
• Ensure that all initial and reauthorizations for services occur in a timely fashion.
• Monitor utilization of services to ensure that they are effective, appropriate, and within the limits set forth in policy, PCP and service authorization.
