Job Title : Residential Aide / Food Service Worker
Employment Type : Full-time, 40 hours / week
Scheduled Hours : Wednesday 10am - 6pm, Thursday 6 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, Friday 6 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, Saturday 8am - 6pm
Program / Location : Milestone; Putnam, CT
About the Program : Milestone is a 30-day intensive level 3.7 residential treatment center designed to accommodate and treat women with a history of substance abuse, trauma, and mental health issues. Our program is recovery-oriented, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed. The overall goal of treatment is to help women find real hope for recovery. Milestone offers individual and group counseling, case management, and aftercare planning services. This program also provides treatment for co-occurring disorders, with substance abuse as their primary diagnosis. Treatment is individualized and targeted around the needs essential to moving forward toward employment, housing, and family stability. Milestone is part of CHR's Center of Excellence for Women / Women and Children at our Putnam campus. Length of day is less than 30 days and are then referred out to a step-down program to further address their co-occurring disorders.
About the Position : Residential Aide / Food Service Worker
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees meal planning and food purchases to meet DPH guidelines, with accepted quality standards and budget constraints.
- Ensures meals are prepared in a timely and safe manner, meals meet community standards for nutrition expectations.
- Ensures that kitchen and dining area meet all safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Provides education to residents regarding food preparation, cooking skills, food purchasing, healthy eating, and nutrition.
- Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
- Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
- Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
- Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
- Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience : Strongly preferred : a minimum of two years' experience as a cook; previous experience in meal planning and purchasing for at least 30 people and / or in a congregate care setting
Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current valid driver's license (with good driving record). Strongly Preferred : ServSafe Certification

Compensation : $18.3818 / hour minimum, and up commensurate upon experience
