Job Description : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Nursing Home (New York)

Position : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Type : Full-time / Part-time / Per Diem

Job Overview :

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team at nursing homes in New York. As a CNA, you will provide direct care to elderly residents in a supportive, respectful, and caring environment. You will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help with mobility, including positioning, transferring, and walking assistance.
  • Monitor and record residents' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
  • Assist residents with eating and feeding when necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental health to nursing staff.
  • Assist with range-of-motion exercises and physical therapy as prescribed.
  • Ensure cleanliness of residents’ living areas and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Help with the admission, transfer, and discharge process of residents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care and activities in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
  • Attend and participate in care plan meetings, training sessions, and other facility-related activities.

Requirements :

  • Certification : Must have a current and valid CNA certification from the State of New York.
  • Experience : Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred, but not required.

    • Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and positioning patients.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude toward elderly individuals.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move residents and equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods and assist with mobility tasks.
