Chief Engineer
As Chief Engineer, you will lead all engineering efforts for a major program, serving as the technical authority and key liaison with customers, partners, and suppliers. You'll drive product improvement, reliability, and cost initiatives while ensuring technical performance, schedule, and compliance.
In this role, you'll guide a cross-functional team through the full development lifecyclemanaging risk, leading trade studies, and driving resolution of technical issues. You'll oversee system requirements, Earned Value tracking, and the Integrated Master Schedule, ensuring engineering delivers on time and on target.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone ready to shape solutions, influence strategy, and deliver excellence.
What You Will Do
- Provide engineering leadership for the assigned program scope
- Identify and coordinate Service Interrupt, Removal, and Production reviews related to ongoing reliability
- Drive product improvement initiatives
- Serve as the technical focal point for the program, customers, partners, and suppliers
- Define and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Coordinate product cost and life cycle cost initiatives
- Maintain the Program Risk Register
- Track engineering and technical performance metrics
- Lead and direct technical system-level trade studies
- Ensure technical requirements, scope, and goals are met on schedule and within budget
- Ensure compliance with Collins engineering processes and program contracts
- Lead the engineering team in support of proposals, assertions, and negotiations
- Manage engineering performance to plan, including resource utilization, cost, and schedule commitments
- Lead engineering efforts through all phases of the Integrated Product Development (IPD) process
- Coordinate and drive the definition, approval, and distribution of system requirements
- Facilitate resolution of technical conflicts and issues
- Ensure development and maintenance of technical risk analysis and gap closure plans
- Lead internal and customer technical and design reviews
- Lead Earned Value (EV) processes, including bi-weekly performance reviews, schedule updates, and estimate-to-complete assessments
- Collaborate with SIPTs and CAMs to identify variances, root causes, corrective actions, and program impacts
- Capture and disseminate lessons learned within assigned scope
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experienceQualifications We Prefer

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
