Responsibilities Work in a Cardiovascular Operating Room setting within a hospital Primary patient population includes open heart and vascular surgery cases Ability to scrub and circulate cases is required Cerner is used for charting Day shifts are 8 hours, 0630-1500, with 2 weekday calls and every 3rd-4th weekend call Assignment length is 12 weeks, full-time 40 hours per week Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical patients Involves frequent patient, family, physician, and multidisciplinary team interaction Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and education Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and moderate noise levels typical in an OR environment May be required to work weekends and holidays based on department needs All travelers may remain on assignment for up to one year before a 30-60 day break is required Scrub attire must be worn in accordance with facility policy Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required Open heart and vascular operating room experience required Must have American Heart Association BLS certification Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing required BSN preferred or required within 5 years of hire, unless transferring within the same department Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-610269.
