Med / Surg RN Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg)

Shifts : Day shifts, 3x12 hour shifts per week

Hours per Week : 36

Duration : 13-week travel contract

Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (South Carolina or compact state)

BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg clinical experience (2 years preferred)

Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care while following established safety protocols

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses

Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs

Initiate discharge planning and patient / family education from admission

Promote a safe hospital environment by adhering to guidelines and reporting hazards

Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
