Industrial Protocols Consultant – Industrial Networking and Communications (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA)

We are seeking a dynamic Industrial Protocols Consultant to support and grow our industrial automation and connectivity solutions. The role combines technical expertise with the ability to drive alignment across the business to deliver high-impact communication architectures across key industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Life Sciences.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

• Act as the subject matter expert for industrial networking and communications technologies (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA, etc.).
• Represent Emerson on Standards committees.
• Provide consulting and solution design for customers and sales teams implementing industrial communication systems.
• Conduct training sessions, workshops, and demos to educate internal teams.
• Consult with development teams to align communication solutions with product capabilities and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and service teams to ensure successful deployment of communication solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to inform strategy and product positioning.
• Collaborate across the business to help develop a long-term technology vision (3–5 year horizons).
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization.
• Contribute to the development of technical specifications and protocols.
• Establish strategic technology partnerships with key industry players.
• Drive the certification of the product (DeltaV) to appropriate standards (PROFINET etc.).
• Participate in the definition of technical vision, strategy, and road mapping.
