Description : Job Summary :

Apex Recovery is seeking a compassionate and innovative Experiential Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Columbia, TN. The ideal candidate will utilize creative, hands-on therapeutic approaches to help clients in recovery explore emotions, build self-awareness, and develop coping skills. This role focuses on facilitating activities such as art therapy, music therapy, outdoor adventure therapy, or other experiential modalities that support emotional healing and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities :

Therapeutic Facilitation :

Develop and implement experiential therapy sessions tailored to clients’ recovery goals.

Utilize creative methods such as art, music, drama, movement, outdoor activities, or other experiential approaches.

Client Engagement :

Build rapport with clients to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

Encourage clients to express emotions, process trauma, and explore self-discovery through experiential methods.

Collaboration :

Work closely with clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, and recovery specialists, to integrate experiential therapy into individualized treatment plans.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to share progress and insights.

Documentation and Reporting :

Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.

Evaluate and document clients' progress to inform treatment adjustments.

Program Development :

Assist in designing and evolving experiential therapy programs to meet diverse client needs.

Plan and lead group workshops, outings, and activities that align with Apex Recovery’s mission.

Requirements : Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Licensure / Certification : Relevant state licensure or certification preferred

Experience : At least 1 year of experience providing experiential or creative therapies in a behavioral health or addiction recovery setting.

Skills : Strong communication, group facilitation, and creative problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements :

Understanding of addiction recovery principles.

Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and work with diverse populations.
