Structural Designer

General Summary

The Structural Designer, with supervision from the Manager of Structural Engineering and / or a project engineer, will provide the technical, organizational and communication skills for day-to-day support. He / she will be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals to design structural framing systems or components thereof at an entry-level basis.

Essential Job Functions

• With direction and assistance, formulate design and / or analysis of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculations
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions
• With direction and assistance, prepare construction documents and communicate with other disciplines to produce a well-coordinated set of construction documents
• With direction and assistance, coordinate with other disciplines for clash detection and load determination
• With direction and assistance, review shop-drawing submittals to assure design intent is met
• Maintain project files containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, and other items
• Perform related duties as assigned

Salary range for this position is typically $70,000.00 to $80,000.00, based on experience and qualifications.
