- Minimum three (3) years of experience as an RN\n
- Minimum of two (2) years in the ER Department.\n\nCERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE / REGISTRATION : \n
- Successful completion of NCLEX to receive RN licensure.\n
- Current, valid, unrestricted RN license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS)\n
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required for appropriate duty section.\n
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for appropriate duty section.\n
- Newborn Life Support (NLS) required for appropriate duty section.\n
- Advanced Trauma Care Nurse (ATCN) required for appropriate duty section.\n
- Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC) required for appropriate duty section.\n\nOTHER QUALIFICATIONS : \n
- Ability to attain favorable adjudication for government clearance required by IHS\n
- Ability to counsel and educate patients, families, communities, and medical staff regarding general health care issues.\n
- Ability to complete the medical record and other necessary documents regarding patient care in a timely, accurate manner via the Electronic Health Record System.\n
- Ability to provide proof of immunizations.\n
- Ability to pass and provide proof of fit for duty physical.\n\nDUTIES : \n
- Perform nursing duties and manage patient's needs as described and identified by the Service Unit and as directed by the Supervisory Nurse.\n
- Perform in accordance with the IHS competency standards\n
- Provide professional nursing service in direct patient care\n
- Provide full range of Emergency services to patients in the Emergency Department.\n
- Exercise knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized, goal-orientated nursing care to the adult or pediatric patient.\n
- Exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Indian patient.\n
- Exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions required.\n
- Exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side-effects, and complications of their use.\n
- Analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.\n
- Work effectively and harmoniously within the health care team and with Indian patients and their families.\n
- Conduct Inter-Facility Transports.\n
- Provide appropriate documentation regarding care rendered using Crownpoint Service Unit (CPSU) Electronic Health Record (EHR) & RPMS system.\n
- All documentation by the provider shall be entered electronically using the Electronic Health Record system.\n
- The provider is responsible for utilizing the EHR / RPMS system to obtain pertinent patient information in assisting care.\n
- It is the responsibility of the provider to use the training resources provided to develop competence in utilizing the Electronic Health Record system (RPMS)\n
