Assistant Property Manager

Position Overview

Located in our West Chester, PA campus, the Assistant Property Manager will play a key role in supporting the overall operations, upkeep, and development of all Synergy properties. This position is essential in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for all clients and staff.

The Assistant Property Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Property Manager and collaborate closely with the Operations Director, Housing Director, and Program Directors to ensure all properties reflect Synergys high standards of care and presentation. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about contributing to a recovery-focused community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Property Support : Assist with daily property checks and ensure all houses and facilities remain clean, safe, and operational.
  • Morning Rounds : Participate in morning rounds with the Property Manager to identify maintenance needs, cleanliness issues, and client-related facility feedback.
  • Bedroom Turnovers : Support room and unit turnover processes including cleaning, painting, moving furniture, and preparing living spaces for new client arrivals.
  • Maintenance Coordination : Perform or assist with minor repairs (painting, patching, assembling furniture, replacing fixtures) and coordinate vendor visits as directed.
  • Emergency Support : Be available to respond to urgent maintenance or facility issues, either directly or by contacting the appropriate vendor or supervisor.
  • Inventory and Supplies : Maintain organization of storage areas and track property-related supplies such as cleaning materials, tools, paint, and hardware.
  • Landscaping and Exterior Care : Support basic lawn care, snow removal, and seasonal cleanups to keep all properties neat and welcoming.
  • Property Development Projects : Assist with ongoing renovation, improvement, and furnishing projects under the direction of the Property Manager or Operations Director.
  • Transportation and Errands : Pick up supplies, move furniture between properties, or deliver items as needed to maintain smooth property operations.
  • Client and Staff Interaction : Communicate courteously and professionally with staff and clients, ensuring that maintenance work is minimally disruptive to client care.

Qualifications

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred).
  • Experience : At least 1 year of experience in property maintenance, residential operations, or facilities support.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Basic understanding of tools, maintenance tasks, and safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with vendor coordination and property upkeep standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general digital organization.
  • Personal Attributes :
  • Dependable, punctual, and proactive.
  • Strong time management and follow-through.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently when needed.
