About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, NRP, PALS, STABLE

Must-Have :

NRP and STABLE Certification Required

Cerner Charting System Experience Required

Travel Experience Required

Description :

High-risk Level III NICU position available.

Responsibilities include the administration of blood and blood products.

Administer anti-seizure medications and antibiotics / antivirals as needed.

Conduct APGAR scoring and arterial line management.

Assist with lumbar punctures and attend high-risk deliveries.

Manage blood glucose monitoring and provide breastfeeding support.

Handle breast milk and utilize Bubble CPAP.

Care for central lines and perform blood draws.

Provide developmental care and support feeding methods including bottle, breast, and gavage.

Utilize high flow nasal cannula and high frequency ventilation techniques.

Monitor hyperbilirubinemia and administer insulin as prescribed.

Implement isolation precautions and use IV vasopressors when necessary.

Manage chest tubes and respond to meconium aspiration cases.

Assist in the care of neonates with conditions such as NEC and neonatal abstinence syndrome.

Perform neonatal dosage calculations and sepsis work-ups.

Care for neonates 29-34 weeks and those 34 weeks and older.

Participate in therapeutic hypothermia and manage oxygen delivery systems.

Provide patient and family education regarding care practices.

Monitor patients via telemetry equipment in the unit.

Maintain thermoregulation and manage umbilical artery and vein catheters.

Oversee ventilator management utilizing various modes.

Patient Age Groups : Neonates

Patient Ratios : 3 patients per nurse

Interdisciplinary Support : Includes respiratory services, interpretation services, and social services
