Shipper / Receivers

Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926, and is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly openings for Shipper / Receivers reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.

The Shipper / Receivers are responsible for maintaining the flow of inbound and outbound of raw material, WIP and finished goods while maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse and dock area.

Key Responsibilities :

• General

Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury

Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)

Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor

Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift

Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing / walking for duration of shift

Dispose of scrap into proper containers

Initiates corrective action for non-conformances

Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system

Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required

Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands

Duties as assigned per Warehouse Supervisor

Shipping Functions

Load outbound trucks for shipment according to the assigned BOL

Inspect outbound shipments for proper identification and damage

Follow FIFO when loading or staging customer orders

Stage future outbound loads as required

Inspect trailers to comply with dry, clean and odorless requirements

Ensure trailer is locked in position, tire chocks and nose jack are in place prior to entering

Seal and secure all outbound trailers

Operate RF scanners for electronic inventory moves as the trailer is being loaded

Verify that all outgoing shipments are properly packaged, comparing items and quantities against supporting documents

Ensure all paperwork in completed correctly

Receiving Functions

Unload trailers of raw materials

Inspect inbound materials for damage of visible contamination

Operate RF scanners to receive goods of inventory

Create and print labels for inbound materails

Attach labels to inbound materials and verify the label matches material information

Store all inbound material in its proper location

Verify the Certificate of Compliance to ensure documentation matches the PO and sample provided

Follow all company work instructions depending on the load type

Production Support

Put away WIP and Finished Goods into their proper storage areas

Operate RF scanners when moving material from one location to another

Ensure that no finished goods are left in drop off areas longer than 24 hours

Ensure all production lines are stocked with the materials needed to operate

Keep the print cell stocked with WIP based on requirements

Ensure the print cell discharge conveyor is emptied and product is put into proper rack location

Other Functions

Maintain dock and warehouse to be free of clutter and garbage

Follow the 5S practices

Ensure product is not left in drive aisles

Comply with policies and procedures; work rules, quality, GMP, Food safety, etc.

Complete training requirements as assigned within the allotted time period

Maintain clear communication with the entire team

Skills

Good math skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills

Experience

2 years shipping / receiving experience is preferred

2 years Powered Industrial Vehicle experience is required

Excellent organizational skills

Education

High school diploma is preferred
